I'm Mia. She is a stunning puppy who was born with a unique and distinguishing condition. She was born with five legs and two tails, which is something that is very uncommon to observe.
When it came to caring for or funding the puppy's specialized therapy, Mia's owners could only provide for her.
The puppy was taken in by Casas Cunas Animal Shelter, which also took care of finding Mia the best treatment possible. Given that she is only two months old and has a large tummy, she will be dewormed.
Mia has an extra paw and tails that are close to her stomach. She also has two anuses and two vaginas, and she has additional genetic illnesses that cause her to utilize her two anuses as urinals.
She needs more precise x-rays and ultrasounds before the necessary medical procedures can be carried out, so the shelter is currently asking for donations to help with her surgery.
The other puppies in Mia's litter have all been adopted, and fortunately, they have not been affected by the same sickness as Mia.
In 2021, a veterinarian at Neel Veterinary Hospital treated a puppy named Skipper. It is believed that Skipper was intended to have a twin, but they failed to fully separate, leaving the puppy with six legs, two tails, two pelvic regions, and two reproductive systems at birth.
It's likely that Mia has the same congenital birth condition.
After 5 days, Mia's first of two procedures must be performed. She has been receiving ongoing veterinarian treatment.
Her most recent report is promising, and it is hoped that the puppy will have a long life. Helping her right now is challenging and pricey.
By telling Mia's story, animal activists hope to raise money for her anticipated surgery.
